Huffpo is highlighting a practical way to vote with bucks against the Too Big To Fail banksters. It is a simple, consumer action plan.
Move Your Money to regional banks.
Now, I'm far from being a financial wizard, so THIS is an action I can get and do.
more below and link to video on what could become a movement ...
Excerpt from Huffpo:
The big banks on Wall Street, propped up by taxpayer money and government guarantees, have had a record year, making record profits while returning to the highly leveraged activities that brought our economy to the brink of disaster... they have also cut back on the money they are lending ... since April, the Big Four banks -- JP Morgan/Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo -- all of which took billions in taxpayer money, have cut lending to businesses by $100 billion.
Meanwhile, America's Main Street community banks -- the vast majority of which avoided the banquet of greed and corruption that created the toxic economic swamp we are still fighting to get ourselves out of -- are struggling.
Filmmaker/author Eugene Jarecki has created an amusing and illuminating video about this effort AND a usefull local bank locator tool based on zip codes on a site called moveyourmoney.info
Even if you can't move all funds, even movement to create small savings accounts could go a long way to help local businesses and reinforce appreciation for bankers who did not jump on the "loot America" gravy train.
