No matter where you live, you can use this OFA tool to call up MA Residents for Coakley.
This needs to happen. If you're completely happy with the Senate bill, fine, be complacent. It can still get passed if the House just ping pongs it back if Brown wins.
However, if you're not happy with the Senate bill, then make sure we have sixty votes in the Senate, so that we could alter the bill to fit with what we want.
But If Brown wins, MA would be electing an individual who believes in torture and believes in the bush tax cuts. Further, you could forget everything else being done in the congress. Martha Coakley has to win and I think she will but folks here need to help!
Please rec this up! Thanks!
OFA for Coakley
On Tuesday, January 19th, there's a special election in Massachusetts to fill Ted Kennedy's Senate seat.
While the large majority of Massachusetts voters support the Democratic candidate, Attorney General Martha Coakley, special interests have poured in hundreds of thousands of dollars to mislead voters -- and the traditionally low turnout in special elections means this race could be very, very close.
The stakes here are incredibly high. You know how hard we've fought and how close we've come to finally passing health reform. But also know this: To get the job done, we need Martha Coakley's vote in the Senate.
No matter where you live, you can play an essential role. OFA volunteers around the country are calling key Massachusetts voters and making sure they know when and where to vote, and how important electing Martha Coakley is to the country.
Each voter we reach could be the one who tips the balance.
UPDATE: To those wondering about the polls, the Boston Herald will report tomorrow that the gap has narrowed to +1 in likely voters for Coakley in the MA Sen race. The Boston Globe will report a +15 for the same race. PPP will also report tomorrow. I know I'm being a sensationalist by using the +1, but we CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS SEAT. Yes, it's MA, but so what?
UPDATE II: PPP has come out and it is HORRIBLE NEWS. Brown is up by one point and this seat has now become a tossup. JUST UNBELIEVABLE. Remember they called VA and NJ.
PPP in Ma
UPDATE III: I'm reading all of these weasly responses from so-called progressives. Folks who are "tough" when it comes to the President and the democrats but act like wimps when it comes to the republicans. These folks need to get their acts together and help vote in Martha Coakley. If she loses, no DADT, no DOMA, no Immigration Reform, no Healthcare, no Climate Change, nothing. We won't even talk about those things. That's the difference. WE WILL NOT LOSE TEDDY's SEAT. THE MAN WHO HAS FOUGHT FOR HEALTHCARE HIS ENTIRE LIFE. WE WILL NOT.
