John Shadegg (R-AZ) is retiring his seat in Congress, bringing the total of retiring Republicans to 14. Will the media dutifully note that Republicans are dropping like flies, or will they stick to the script?
Shadegg has become most famous for holding up his granddaughter during the reform hearings as a prop.
Shadegg comes close to rhyming with "douche bag" because that's what he is. He has said the reform package is a "Soviet-style gulag health care", and will make American healthcare something akin to that available to the prisoners of Russian gulag."
He is a bigot, calling for an investigation into the CAIR because of a piece of shit book titled "Muslim Mafia." Shadegg was one of three people calling for the investigations because of a CAIR memo saying that they will develop initiatives like Lobby Day and putting Muslim interns into Congressional offices. He also voted for a bill to create a 700-mile fence along the U.S.-Mexico border.
In November, Shadegg made a ridiculous comment to Michael Bloomberg regarding the 9/11 trials. Shadegg re-created a scene right out of "24" when he asked the mayor how he'll feel when his daughter gets kidnapped at school by a terrorist.
Not only is Shadegg a fear monger, he's also a hypocrite. Shaddeg voted "yea" on the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 while turning around and protesting bailouts in 2009. He also voted "no" on regulating the subprime mortgage industry.
Let's all raise our glasses tonight to a tea bagging dumbass riding off into the sunset.
