I am sick of this shit. Stop telling me what to fucking do. I do plenty and I don't need to be told that we need to do more. What we need is our Democratic party to stop being corrupt. Stop taking the money from Wall Street and the banks, stop the 20,000 dollar a pop DNC fund raisers, and stop the corruption in DC.
Yes, I know, Obama has shown that the US government can act in a crisis situation which is much better then what Bush did, but the bar was on the fucking ground rusted and ready to be thrown away when Obama came to town so all he had to do was be competent. I don't hand out cookies for competence.
All this bullshit about mops and taking action just hides the fact that we have no control over the mess. All of us mopping at the same time isn't cleaning up the mess in DC. Obama is still the headliner at 20,000 dollar a pop fund raisers. Obama is not being a leader and showing everyone that money will stop ruling the day in DC.
Asking people to take action and then while we act we look up and see that the system is working against just pisses us off even more.
I am driving senior citizens to the polls Tuesday here in Massachusetts. I worked hard during the primary to make sure we had a good nominee. We ended up with Coakley, she is a competent person but a horrible campaigner and it is making life here in Massachusetts very difficult for Democratic party supporters. My point is we need leadership from our party. Don't ask us to act and then you fail to act.
Corruption is killing the party agenda. HCR would have been a million times better if DC was less corrupt. Action on climate change would be a million times easier if DC was less corrupt. Oil wouldn't be jumping up over 80 bucks a barrel if the idiots in DC had acted on the oil speculators who drove up prices last time.
Corruption kills the activists spirit, but I soldier on. I volunteer at the VA hospital because they had to cut back on the staff, I volunteer at the senior center because they had to cut back on staff. I volunteer at the soup kitchen because they have a lot of people in need of a meal. I wouldn't have to do all of this if our leaders knew how to lead.
Our VA hospitals would be properly funded and staffed, our senior centers would be properly funded and staffed and our soup kitchens would have a lot less people in them if our leaders knew how to lead.
