We should know who are real enemies are:
The crowd responded enthusiastically as Brown made his case against AG Martha Coakley (D) -- even interrupting frequently to make Brown's case for him.
"I'll tell you what," Brown said, using a megaphone to address the crowd. "There's negative campaigning, and then there's malicious campaigning."
"She's malicious!" a man in the crowd cried out. "She's a phony!" shouted another. "Shove a curling iron up her butt!" a third man interjected a few moments later.
Brown Rallies A Revitalized GOP
Sexism is strong among the radical right in this country. This sounds just like that hate we heard in the McCain rallies.
It's time for a truce on Daily Kos among the gangs, and that is exactly what we have been creating here: gang warfare.
People can begin their fights again on Wednesday. Look, I'm for free speech and everyone can speak their minds here. I'm just asking people who share my view that Ms. Coakley should be elected and that a big tent party is worth having to put aside their differences for a few days and work together.
I know there will be many on all sides (there certainly are more than 2 sides regarding the many, many issues here) who cannot put aside their differences for a few days. So be it. Do what you must.
But for those that can work together, let's defeat the hate in Massachusetts.
Let's do what we can to elect Martha Coakley.
Update I: Some good news.
Nate says it's a tossup:
the Massachusetts special election should continue to be regarded as a toss-up.
538 Still Rates Massachusetts as Toss-up
My totally unscientific "gut" says Brown has peaked. With Obama in Mass today, TV ads running, calls being made, I think we will see Dem turnout. Mass will reject Brown and Coakley will win.
Unscientific, I know. Come back Wednesday and we will see if my gut is right.
Update II: From Scarce in the comments. Much of the crowd, including Brown heard it and they laughed. At the 40 second mark.
He had to have heard it and he did nothing. Mr. Brown, do you think that is appropriate? Ask Brown.
