People, including my friend, are still trapped in the Hotel Montana.
Many a day, stuck at work, I have been enriched by the content on Daily Kos and the community it fosters. In the spirit of community you can now help me and many others. My good friend and CDC worker Diane Caves is, apparently, one of the many in the rubble of the Hotel Montana. Rescuers are still working there and survivors have been rescued. There appear to be more people alive in the rubble. A Facebook group set up for those with loved ones in the building keeps the information flowing Please help keep that information flowing in any way you know how. I realize that attention can be focused on this building because it housed relatively influential foreigners. I wish I knew other places to point rescuers as well. But as long is attention is paid the rescuers will stay on the job until everyone is found. Not that their attention wanders, but they are busy people
Diane was working for the President's Commission on AIDS and also works with me at a Non-Profit summer camp in Appalachia. She also play a mean game of frisbee. There are a lot of special people out there who need help. Keep the attention focused. Thanks
Sorry. But the news I received was not good. I am still pulling for everyone else out there, in the Hotel Montana and otherwise. Thank you for caring.
