Just some odds n' ends of things I've seen around the 'net this morning. Please feel free to join in with links to any interesting articles you read in recent days.
Obama is reportedly attending the Duke-Georgtown game this afternoon.
George HW Bush and Jeb Bush stopped at the White House to say hi this morning. They were there for about 35 minutes, Politico sez.
I'm friends with a guy here who works my state's equivalent of the CDC. His job has something to do with TB and HIV prevention and treatment within the prison population. As we talked last night about the Roeder conviction in Wichita, P. said after sentencing, if he gets the Hard-50, Roeder would likely be going to 'death row' in Kansas where BTK and some other unsavory characters are held.
P. has been there, so I asked him for some detail on what it'll be like. Roeder will basically end up in solitary confinement. His contact with the outside world will be strictly limited. His cell will have a narrow window for his food to be passed to him. There is a very small exercise yard that he will be allowed to go into, but only by himself. He will have no contact with BTK or any of the general prison population.
Roeder's sentence remains to be seen, but that is likely what awaits him.
