Yay! Orly is there at the convention. Now the Tea Party is Officially NUTZ!
Orly Taitz in Nashville

NASHVILLE — The woman dubbed by the Orange County Register as “queen of the birthers” arrived at the National Tea Party Convention today and did what she always does: hustle around talking to reporters and trying to get media coverage. Pictured below: Taitz talking to Lydia DePillis of The New Republic.
David Weigel cont.
Taitz has a sort of media blackout policy on me — she has refused to talk since I posted a photo essay of the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot that featured, among other things, photos of her and of Third Reich memorabilia. Worse things can happen to journalists than being dissed by Orly Taitz — it saves a lot of time, and a lot of indulging a person who relentlessly brings up defunct or debunked legal arguments. But Taitz — who was recognized by quite a few people who stopped to shake her hand — did talk to other reporters, while hitting some speed bumps with others. For several minutes, she tried to make her case to Carl Cameron of Fox News, to no avail. As I spoke to John Avlon of The Daily Beast, Taitz ran over and asked Avlon when his book “Wingnuts” will be coming out and whether she could get a copy. (She’s profiled in the book.)
Please, please let her ask Sarah Palin about the Birth Certificate and 99 Different Social Security Numbers and Corrupt Judges and Illegitimate President. After all, as the DK poll demontrated, and Orly is loudly boasting:
MOST REPUBLICANS ARE BIRTHERS (no link, Google is flagging her site as virus infected)

… and the problem is … what? They act if this is some shameful scandal, when it is instead a sign of healthy skepticism, giving us hope that Americans are not a bunch of totally brainwashed, passive idiots– hurrah! The facts are that Obama has not established his bona fides of eligibility to even run for President, let alone be one. Perhaps our “leaders” will catch up with We The People on this one soon, at least by the November elections, huh?
Sadly, Orly was denied the opportunity to speak to the Tea Baggers. It seems Dick Armey (a better name for the tea party movement, IMO), refused to allow it.

It’s a terrible thing. Dr. Orly Taitz, Esq., in all her majesty, is being snubbed by the organizers of the Tea Party Convention and Dick Armey, she says on her website* (malware alert):
Tea Party movement members seem more interested in fighting each other lately than battling our communist president. There’s a “First National Tea Party Convention” next month in Nashville that’s raised more than a few eyebrows, as well as the wrath of many other tea party fans.
First of all, the convention is charging people $549 to attend the event, to be held at a swank hotel — an odd move for a group that celebrates ordinary grassroots Americans. FreedomWorks, the nonprofit group led by former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, which launched the Tea Party movement, isn’t attending the convention, saying through a spokesman, “”We would strongly oppose any person or organization becoming the movement.”
Edit Another sighting!
John Avlon:
I was looking forward to this morning’s scheduled seminar on “Correlations Between the Current Administration and Marxist Dictators of Latin America,” but sadly it was canceled. An unexpected consolation prize was the appearance of Birther Queen Orly Taitz at the Tea Party convention, who scurried over to ask me when Wingnuts is coming out—she seemed anxious to read her profile but wasn’t in the mood for a follow-up interview.
Orly's at the Tea Party! Yay! Let. Her. Speak!

Pretty sure I just prayed to give Sarah Palin "wisdom."

In the frigging opening prayer, Obama is called "our sitting president." Needlessly weird.

Yes, Orly Taitz is here. And she wants people to interview her. And it's annoying. http://bit.ly/...

Edit They are replaying the afternoon proceedings, and a woman in the audience is holding up her birth certificate, and calling a copy of the President's BC a "piece of junk." The moderator said "thank you" and cut her off. She and Orly are now having cocktails in the Lounge, no doubt, and planning their next move.
