Sarah Palin is kind of like that nervous kid in high school that the other kids messed with because she was so easy to provoke. One word or one wrong glance and she goes balistic. From afar, you know it is a little mean to do, but damn if you don't laugh at the abusurdity of a person having her buttons pushed so easily. Her latest "outrage" is below the fold.
This story from Entertainment Weekly gives the specifics.
For those of you that don't feel like clicking, it basically says that on an episode of "Family Guy", a person with Downs Syndrome says that her father is an accountant and that her mother is the former governor of Alaska.
That's it. No other reference to Sister Sarah or her family. I might add that throughout the story, she is treated with respect and despite being an animation, her condition isn't "cartooned up". In fact, the whole point of the story is that Chris, (a character from the show), has a crush on her and does not see anything wrong with wanting to date someone with Downs Syndrome. That fact that she turns out to be sort of a brat also plays against the stereotype of the "sweet hearted downs syndrome kid". I mention that because whether positive or negative, stereotypes are stereotypes.
So Palin goes on her version of Radio Free Europe -- Facebook -- to lambast "Family Guy" for making fun of her son (who was never mentioned, and last time I checked was not a 16 year old girl) and her family.
Fortunately, according to the comments of the EW readers, most people see this for what it is. Media whoring, and taking another opportunity to hoist up her "Special baby" and use him as a puppet for her attention grabbing motives.
Yet another fail for Ms. Tea Party 2010.
