Its always been a dream of mine to look down upon the earth from far above. Its a dream that I have slowly accepted will never be a reality.
However for those lucky few, the most recent addition to the space station must be a real jaw dropper.
The extension is called Tranquillity, and contains the ultimate view of our beautiful planet.
I wish all those who insist that our pollution cannot harm this small and fragile sphere could spend half an hour looking down. Maybe then they would realise just how precious and rare our world is and how the meagre the profits that they make are in comparison to its glory.
"I don't think space station's ever going to be the same after this," Mission Control said in a congratulatory call. It set the mood by beaming up a recording of Jimmy Buffett's song "Window on the World."

Just a few minutes is all I ask, sigh.
The space station is an emblem of what we can do when humanity works together. It is projects like this which give me hope and the courage to dream.
With the Spitzer and Hubble space telescopes looking back into the origin of our universe, and the space station hovering over our home, we have a toehold on our future.
Can we go further? Do we have the will?
Do we have the heart to make dreams reality?
Or will we continue just to tear ourselves and our world apart?
I must believe that we can change.
Dreams are illustrations... from the book your soul is writing about you.
