I don't live in Arkansas. If I did I would vote for Bill Halter over Blanche Lincoln in the Democratic primary, since his policy positions are closer to mine on a wide range of issues.
But give him money? I've given money to dozens of candidates through Daily Kos, going as far back as 2004. But I'm reluctant to do so here. The way I see it, I would be throwing money into a primary where the winner is going to get killed by the Republican nominee in the Fall. (Am I wrong? If so, convince me). Why should I do that? Why shouldn't I wait until the general election and conserve my donations to defeat Republicans?
Blanche Lincoln is probably one of the three worst Democrats in the Senate, but she's still better than all of the Republicans. She did vote for cloture of the Senate Health Care bill, when it came right down to it. In the final analysis, I don't see why I should donate to Halter, although I'm ready to be persuaded.
I look forward to Kossacks making the case for why I should donate money to Bill Halter.
