From HP:
Betting the farm on opposing Obama has been the GOP blueprint for the past year. And it will be going forward. Appearing on a local radio station in his home state of Arizona, Sen. John McCain defined the party ethos quite clearly.
"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," he said. "They have poisoned the well in what they've done and how they've done it."
First things first: Are you trying to say there's been cooperation prior to this?
It's over, republicans. You've been the one's to "poison the well." You've acted like children for a year and a half, unable to fathom that the general public didn't want your remedies.
Instead of doing what the democrats did at the beginning of Bush's term - try to find common ground and give the man a chance (one that many felt he didn't deserve), you decided it would be best for the country to oppose every helpful and needed proposal, law or reform. Funny. You did the same thing when Clinton took office almost two decades ago. Remember that? I do.
You could care less about those dying due to our faulty health system or those losing work as a result of your refusal to enlist any form of regulation on the financial industry.
Your brilliant strategy was to vote "no" on everything. Really clever. Did you really think most of us wouldn't see through such a callous, childish approach? Did you honestly expect us to gloss over the fact that EVERYTHING you supported was for the benefit of corporations and the insurance industry?
As far as most of us are concerned you can all go crawl under your political rock and metaphorically die there. You've shown us who you are and what you care about.
Not gonna cooperate? Who needs you anyway.
