just caught the end of an exchange on (I was about to say Air America - how did we ever lose them?) the Ed Schultz show on WWRL here in NYC. Norman Goldman was filing in and he took a phone call from a guy who was speaking about Texas AG Greg Abbott and had some rather, shall we say, "interesting" anecdote to share. The caller relayed a story of how Abbott was injured when hit by a falling tree while running and won a lawsuit settlement of $10 million. Lo and behold, one of his major issues has become, like the good and obedient Repug pawn he probably is, tort reform. Any one from Texas know anything more about this? Is he really railing against our over-litigious society with one hand, and with the other collecting a boat-load of dough from a lawsuit in which (according to Ballotpedia) he sued the homeowner, and then even the arborist?
