I was on my way to have some tests done at the cardiologist (60.00 copay for what it's worth) and I was told there would be a lot of waiting around between the tests, so I thought I'd get the newspaper on the way to have something to read while there. Well, this was the presentation of the above-fold of the Arizona Republic:
For those of you who don't know, The GOP governor and GOP legislature, in their latest budget, have killed two state health care programs and slashed the state's Medicaid spending. This is going to have a tragic effect on the less well-off of the state, particularly the children.
There's nothing wrong with the articles as far as the content that I can tell, but they don't mention that these programs were killed by the state government anywhere on the front page. If you look at the cover, the way these articles are positioned next to Obama's signing of the new law, it appears (at least to me) that they're trying to blame Obama for the state's health care budget being slashed!
Am I paranoid or is the (right-leaning) Arizona Republic doing a little dirty work for the AZ GOPers?
