Via TPM (link is to Alan Colmes' site I guess though?):
FOXWIRE: FOX has learned that the Richmond, VA campaign office of House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) was shot at overnight.
This is weird. I don't know if it's true or if Fox is trying to play the "both sides do it" card. The link mentions that Cantor is the only Jewish Republican in Congress. There's not much more to go on.
From the same link though, this is just freaking bizarre:
FOX has also obtained a threatening message left Friday on the voicemail of Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-OH). This is believed to be the first threat against a Republican member. The message contained racial overtones and profane language.
What kind of racial overtones? Am I missing something here? And who's doing this to Republicans, especially people like Cantor and Schmidt who hated the idea of making health care more accessible to Americans?
Either the teabaggers are just attacking incumbents or this story is not exactly, shall we say, true. Besides that, the way this is written it seems like some attempt to be "fair and balanced" about calling John Lewis the N word and Barney Frank the F word.
There's no fair and balanced way to approach that. It happened and it's wrong. If this story is true, it is also wrong. There should not be arguments at this point over who did it first or which other side also does it.
We need to stop this shit. In an ideal world, Democrats and Republicans would come together in a bipartisan way to stop this kinda stuff. That is not going to happen. Instead what we get is bizarre claims that we are just as evil.
I'll wait to see further details on this.
