This is one of those WTF moments, I thought I'd share.
I was watching the local NYC Fox News this morning, while drinking my coffee. They were covering a JetBlue jet at Newark Airport. They had reported the jet had lost part of its engine cowling during takeoff, and safely taken off, circled then landed on another runway. A helicopter showed the jet returning to the gate, and showed a large hunk of metal next to the takeoff runway.
A few minutes later, Fox arranged an expert from the NTSB to speak on the telephone. The expert watched the Fox video of the plane's left engine laid bare, and saw the debris on the runway.
The expert made the following statement:
"There is no reason for that to fall off. We don't know for sure, of course, but it looks like someone had a very bad morning in terms of airline maintenance."
The Fox anchor then reacted angrily:" Now, don't go there, We are not going there. This could have happened in flight (nb: the same anchor had already reported it was not during flight). We're told this happened in flight. It could have been a bird. We're not going there."
At Fox, Everyone is a Hannity. Everyone at Fox knows the script, at all times.
Jet Blue = advertiser. FAA/NTSB = socialism.
