I'm a "decline to state" voter - primarily because the Democratic Party isn't progressive enough for me. But I belong to the GOS because this is one place I can find well thought-out arguments bolstered by actual facts. So I'd like your feedback on this citizen's dilemma.
In California, both major parties are required to let registered DTS voters elect to vote in their primaries for elective office. I have three choices for my absentee ballot: one of the majors, or a DTS ballot that only allows me to vote on non-elective issues.
My usual preference is to vote Democratic in the primary. However, with the rise of the wing-nuts, I'm tempted to pick a GOP ballot this time, to do my part to skew them so far right they can't get anywhere.
Since my favorite part of voting is the elective offices, I want to put my independent status to the best progressive use.
What say you?
