Yes, I have a few. None Like Sarah Palin's but I decided to list a few.
I am a Public Speaker, but obviously have gone about it all the wrong way. I am an outspoken activist for social justice and do have a great
passion for veteran causes, along with successfully producing a Get out the Vote CD in 2004.
I have almost completed one book and now working on a children's book. Yes, I have a publisher but hey, I still must be doing something wrong, or right, depending on how one looks at it.
I have spoken at events, schools, and churches, but never required all the razza matazz that must
be missing. So in this diary I am outlining what I require when I speak again publicly.
I had a diary on here once entitled, I am
more important than Sarah Palin. Well, I still believe that but I require less.
I hope everyone has read Sarah Palin's speaking contract and her needs to fulfill such a task.
I find it amusing that such hypocrisy is bought and paid for by people
who can barely afford 3 square means a day. Those tickets sold to the
public, or the event host picks up the tab and the poor peasants pay
in other ways.
This woman Sarah, who bragged that she was so frugile that she shopped
at Alaska's consignment shop. Oh, those were the days! If you believe that,
I have a bridge for ya in Brooklyn.
I am not a rich person nor do I desire to be. I have too hard of a time worrying
about my kids and their safety and I am economically disadvantaged, so being rich
would add another worry.
My speaking requirements would be as follows:
I require a listening audience willing to engage in non rehearsed questions but
questions only allowing 1 follow up as to give other people a chance to talk..
I would require the most economical motel in town. Motel 6 would be just fine, just
be sure to leave the light on.
I would require one working microphone that my husband would check out because he
would only be happy to fool with all the electronics. (we have a home studio) and only
he could assure himself and his OCD that the mike was working properly.. He is like that.
This task would require a great deal of time as he does not like feedback from microphones and monitors would
have to work properly. The microphone would have to be handheld and only a Sure SM56
low impedence and, nevermind, we will bring one from home.
Transportation.......A cab will work just fine. I do not need limos or 5 star SUV's black in color.
I own an 07 Pacifica and the motor mounts are shot so I just require dependable transporation.
and need no reminders how that SUV might leave me stranded. I just want the driver not to be a former Nascar driver and require good driving habits. I will not fly anywhere. If it does not cruise
or land driven, I will not be going. I can go Amtrak. No problem.
The above should take care of any costs regarding airport nonsense, None of that required.
Stage.....I require a fixed bright light that you step into and it does not follow you around.
I need a pair of extra reading glasses, just in case I break mine from pulling them off and on from
my head. ,275 Maganvision and can be bought from any Dollar General or local pharmacy.
I do not care if any film is in the camera, I require a lot of flash from cameras. It is a personal
thing and boosts my ego.
I require background, mood music while I am speaking for effect. Very low and when I pause,
will be adjusted to fit mood. I always wanted to speak like it was being portrayed in a Movie, so
music is required. Selection will be made by me two days before event and will be checked out
by husband on the PA system. Do not forget the OC. There will be a lot of arguing between us
over the selection and volume, so two days is pushing it.
I require a podium, just plain podium for my glasses to sit. I may or may not use note cards.
I WON'T BE USING HAND CHEAT NOTES. I will require a yellow highlighter and a bic pen.
It is doubtful that I will use either but it will be handy.
I require comfortable chairs for my audience.
I require soft mood lighting for my audience.
I require no admittance fee but donations welcome.
All proceeds of donations will be given to local charities.
I will require a straight back cushion chair that is not too low and very firm. I want a regular table like one that is found at every doctor's office and
no skirt required. When I see a skirted table, I always wonder what is under the thing.
I require signing for the hearing impaired.
I do not require any special food preparations. I eat what I can and when I can and am not picky.
I do read newspapers and will bring my own laptop.
Just to remind people, Jesus, himself did not require this much excess when he spoke.
He just needed a listening audience willing to hear.
