Well, actually this happened a few weeks ago, so I'm sure he's lied about all sorts of things since then, but this is a nicely documented one that can not be disputed by your crazy Uncle Dittohead. I even have the videotape.
These are handy to carry around for just such occasions. After the jump, I will explain.
The video below is a 3 and a half-minute local news segment about Karl Rove's books signing in Beverly Hills. The event happened on March 29, 2010.
The focus of the news story is about some protesters from Code Pink who disrupted the Turd Blossom's speech to try and execute a citizen's arrest of Mr. Rove for outing Valerie Plame. There were other "lefties" present, and at one point one such gentlemen shouts from the audience something to the effect of "We have the Downing Street Memos".
To which Rove says "The Downing Street memos are a complete fabrication and this man [the audience member] is a lunatic." (Exchange begins at about 2:31.)
Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/...
No one has seriously questioned the veracity of the Downing Street memos. While officials have either avoided acknowledging their authenticity of the memos or have tried to "spin" their meaning into something less fanciful.
But noe. no serious person on either side of the aisle has claimed they are a "complete fabrication". No less an authority than Tony Blair has said that the memos do not demonstrate misconduct-hardly an assertion that the documents are inauthentic.
I know this is a dog bites man headline but I like to document the most blatant lies of the Old Guard. Someone has to.
