I did it. I did it for you. I did it to challenge myself. I wanted to see if the "slant" was as bad as I remember. Here, I give you, my fellow Kossacks, a brief breakdown of the News according to Fox, in the last half hour.
- Man caught in Manhattan bombing. Good right? No. Focus is not on the sucess of catching a potential murderer within 53 hours. The focus, right now, is on the failure to allow him ON THE PLANE and the failure of the "no fly list." As just emphasized by whatever the blonde of the moment, "OK, that worked THIS TIME" but what about next time?" She is hammering the guy who said that they did a "pretty good job" -- She states: "Pretty good, we are talking about terrorism!"
- On BP Oil leak, first sentence in the lead in, "BP, who has already directed millions of dollars to people affected by the spill. . ." - then on to how great a job BP is doing with their plan to clean up the spill. Really? I did not know that BP has spent "MILLIONS" going to "people" - - and I wonder what the hell they are talking about. They then interview Gov. Jindal who talks about how great BP has been and they have cool stuff to deal with this.
- Border Security, Homeland Security Director states that Border Security is "as good as it has ever been" (which is undoubtedly true)but is derided as an admission that the Obama Administration sucks. And then on to a story about a fence in Yuma that works really really great, but the Obama Administration has not built a fence on all other border areas. Also a live recording of an officer shot by "illegals in AZ last week" -- it is "just chilling!" - No, it was not, it was a good cop doing his job.
-Some good looking white guy is charged with murdering a good looking white girl.
- AZ law. Oakland bans business with Arizona. She interviews a city counselman. "What is the violation of Civil Rights?" "It does not say that anyone can be pulled over, that is not accurate" "People are literally being kidnapped and murdered by illegal aliens in Arizona, what are they supposed to do, sit their and take it"
- A story on the Labor Department looking into whether interns are being used by big corporations, compliments of John Stossel, Fox's imput? She brings out her intern, on camera, and asks if she feels that the government needs to be looking out for her.
- A story on how the Obama Administration characterized the TEA party movement, and the major implications.
OK, NONE of this is NEWS to anyone of us. But I just spent one half hour of my life, looking at the world through the Fox News lense, it is so dishonestly ugly and self serving that it is dangerous. I am embarrassed for my country.
Second, there is no comparison to CNN or MSNBC as "liberal." This is agenda driven, no news there, but the tone of the stories is so intense and hurried, I can see why people who routinely watch are so scared about what is going on. If this is your only news source you would be terrified. Except about the oil spill, they are doing just great with that little problem.
UPDATE: A HUGE story on a gay softball league kicking out 2 members for not being "gay enough" all the while laughing each time they say "gay."
