That scraping sound you hear? It's the Republican Party passing right on through the bottom of the barrel.
Joe The Plumber, Party Official
That's right; not-Joe the non-Plumber, the least qualified famous person in America (which takes some doing in a nation which contains the Octomom), has become a Republican Party official in Ohio.
The group he'll serve on meets only a few times a year to elect the county chairman and sets the party agenda. Wurzelbacher won the seat by a 38-24 vote Tuesday in his suburban Toledo precinct. A message seeking comment was left with him Wednesday.
This is the same Samuel Wurzelbacher who said that John McCain really screwed up his life.
Incidentally, my spell checker suggestions for Wurzelbacher include: Bachelorhood, Treacherous, Lubavitcher, and Schoolteacher.
Perhaps not the biggest news of the day. In fact, far from it. But a good reminder to all of us that the GOP simply cannot be taken seriously at any level, and cannot be allowed power at any level.
Until Republicans admit that Reaganomics failed, they cannot be allowed power over economic policy.
Until Republicans admit that climate change is real, they cannot be allowed power over energy policy.
Until Republicans admit that millions of undocumented workers are here because they are useful to the rest of us, they cannot be allowed power over immigration policy.
Until Republicans admit that some people are born gay, they cannot be allowed power over gay rights.
Not nationally; not at the state level; not at the local level.
They just are not deserving of power because they just won't deal with reality.
So if you're pissed at Obama, go make a difference at the local level. But don't let these morans have power.
