What Are You Working On is a community diary series for all things crafty, in a variety of mediums and techniques.
You may volunteer to guest host by signing up at this yahoo group, which I check from time to time. Also by joining this group, you will receive one email a week when the diary is posted.
I would like to ask for a volunteer for next week, as I may have collapsed by the time WAYWO is posted. I know maggiejean and kirbybruno have both expressed interest.
I baked another birthday princess cake! With cupcakes!
Cake detail.
I wrote a more detailed diary about cake decorating here. I see I have deleted many of the pictures. So maybe I should revisit that topic.
Anyway, cake decorating is much harder than it looks. I have blown it completely a couple of times (especially this Easter), but in general everyone is impressed enough and the cake gets eaten.
We went to our local arboretum for the little friends' party. They do the "programming" and we brought the cake and juice. And the kids all had a great time, the weather was sunny and warm enough, and all the parents retrieved their children on time.
My children made Mother's Day gifts at school, which I always love so very much. Son made paper flowers (which may fade over time but won't wilt soon) and wrote a poem. Daughter's class made a recipe book and she gave me a bluebird of happiness (see Shrek).
We should all be thankful that 7yo's are not in charge of our cooking ;-)
I also wrote a few diaries, including an OND, a fund-raising opportunity, and a reminder to help feed the hungry.
In the last 10 days, I have finished 4 or 5 scarves (weaving in the loose ends) and given two of them away (including everything in the next photo). I also cast on for a new scarf for a girlfriend.
So, what are you working on?
