I'll happily delete this non-diary but wanted to be sure those of you whom may not be aware that the Senate moved quickly this evening to the final vote which is happening now.
You can view it live on C-SPAN - http://www.c-span.org/...
TPN earlier noted the possibility of the vote being tonight:
Final Vote?

We're anticipating a final vote in the Senate on financial reform within the hour. It appears likely to pass on the same 60-40 vote, or close to it, as the procedural vote earlier this afternoon, but there's no guarantees. Stay tuned ...
Late Update (8:30 ET): Voting is underway ...
And, indeed, they were correct.
As TPN now notes:
By a vote of 59-39 tonight, the Senate passed sweeping legislation to tighten the rules governing the U.S. financial system.
Three Republicans joined with all but two Democrats who opposed the bill for not being more aggressive in reforming Wall Street. Two Senators didn't vote.
In the weeks ahead, House and Senate negotiators will meet in a formal conference committee to iron out the differences between this package, and the broadly similar bill the House adopted late last year. The Senate is expected to name their negotiators on Monday.
