Last week I watched President Barack Obama give an amazing speech to the graduating cadets at West Point. President Obama said nothing controversial or disrespectful to the military. However, many conservatives and Republicans will criticize the speech. All I had to do was read the comments at Fox News. It is interesting to me that if the same speech was given by former President Bush the right wingers would love it.
President Obama mentioned the word "terrorist" at least twice. He acknowledged we are at war and we will win. He said our troops pray and he supports them. Therefore, will the right wing stop making false claims that he refuses to use the word "terrorist," or does not think we are at war and wants the United States to fail? I seriously doubt it because he has said these things before. They just choose not to believe it.
I think some of them really have a personal problem with President Obama. It is not all because he is a Democrat or what he has done. It is by his very existence in the White House, by being president of these United States that offends them. In their view, he can do nothing right except stop existing as our president or stop existing period.
The following is a quote I read from a comment posted on the Fox News website in response to so many of their readers claiming President Obama is not a real American, does not support the troops, etc.
"
All of you that believe that he is not truly the president because [you claim] he is not a real American, why do your senators, congressmen, generals and the Supreme Court all recognize him as the President of the United States? You should vote them all out of office for even standing up when he enters the room or addressing him as Mr. President."
With that, I rest my case.
