In an article from today that begins, "Hey Tea Party" Professor Juan Cole reminds the ultra-patriotic country-first flag-swaddled teabaggers that an American was killed by Israeli commandos on Memorial Day.
The behavior of Israeli commandos and "intelligence" resembles that of the contractors that the US government pays with our money.
Paveen Yaqub, from Manchester, was on board the Mavi Marmara, on which nine people were killed when it was stormed by Israeli commandos on Monday. She said she was later kicked and abused by two Israeli policemen. "They were kicking my legs to make me fall and mocking me in Hebrew," she said. "They were trying to take trophy pictures with me and they liked laughing in my face. "They also searched me but I won't go into that. They took pleasure in humiliating us."

Four bullets to the fucking head, one in the chest. Nineteen year old Furkan Dogan. An American.
One possible explanation for the difference in Americans' response to Neda Agha-Soltan's death in Iran and a teenager's death by Israeli commandos is the absence of video. The world saw the beautiful young Neda lying on the ground as the crimson spread over her face and her life was extinguished. No such evidence exists for the Israeli raid. Israel confiscated and has possibly destroyed all documented evidence of its brutality. Were the alabaster white images of those who died in the Jewish holocaust not available, would we believe the horror stories?
