Just unbelievable. Sen. Murkowski's disapproval amendment which essentially takes away the power of the EPA to regulate greenhouse gas emissions has 41 co-sponsors and is set to pass this week according to Senatus via Rollcall.
Murkowski's EPA rule Resolution set to Pass
So in the middle of the world's biggest environmental disaster, where it is abundantly clear that we need to transition off fossil fuels to green technology as soon as possible, the senate will vote to strip away the power from the EPA to regulate greenhouse gas emissions thus going against the Supreme Court and every other agency.
The Alaska Republican’s proposal rolling back Environmental Protection Agency authority to regulate greenhouse gases comes as Democrats renew their push to pass climate change legislation following the Gulf Coast oil spill.
A final vote on Murkowski’s measure is expected Thursday evening, and with 41 co-sponsors to the resolution, aides predict it will easily clear the 51-vote threshold for passage.
So the House actually passes the bill while the Senate takes away abilities from the agency that would be doing the regulating, all while NOT passing a bill. What the heck does this say to the world about our ability to solve problems when the Senate doesn't want to do anything?
