Video: Woman with tar on hands arrested at hearing
By Jake Sherman / Politico
A woman with tar-stained hands was forcibly escorted out of the Energy and Commerce Committee hearing room after interrupting BP CEO Tony Hayward’s opening statement.
The woman, Diane Wilson, who was one of the first members of the public allowed into the room, stood and screamed that Hayward needs to be charged with a crime. She was sitting alongside a woman in a Code Pink T-shirt in the back row of the Rayburn hearing room. She had black, tar-like substance on her hands and smeared on her face.
Diane Wilson wrote An Unreasonable Woman --

David Brancaccio interviewed her in 2005 on PBS's Now regarding her activism to stop corporate toxic dumping in the Gulf.
