disclaimer*: I drank about 6 Sam Adam Summer Ale pints at the local Irish pub during the game.
What a win. Epic win. Best win ever for US soccer, hands down, and at least until we destroy the knockout rounds, the biggest win for a US team ( in terms of adversity ) except for the USA hockey win against the USSR in the Olympics.
And Bill, you were there. A lot of shit is happening in the world and in the US, Haiti, the gulf spill, massive poverty and war, but you came to a huge game for us. Thanks. Coincidence that a winner watched us pull out an epic win? Maybe, maybe not.
If you watched the US game, you noticed Bill Clinton attended....our last great President. Sorry Obama, you've got a long way to go in terms of effectiveness and gravitas; you're a good talker, but not yet the leader that Bill was and is. Was/is he personally flawed? Yes, but if Karma is true, his faults are massively outweighed by his good works, and Bill will be coming back as something awesome.
Sepp Blatter, the president of FIFA, wouldn't piss on the US team if it was on fire*. This is the 2nd WC where a US referee hasn't been selected to referee even an opening round match (we didn't even have a US ref team ASKED TO ATTEND this time). Yet, Willie shows up, and gets the captain's seat right next to Blatter.
You're a leader, Bill. You've gained the trust, the respect, the gravitas, from the World. Again, a flawed dude who almost gave it all away for a BJ from a 5* (maaaaaaybe), but someone I'm truly proud to be associated with as an American, and a man I miss sitting in the Oval Office. If anyone wants to get the document changed so he can get back, I'll be the first to sign.
Love you Bill. Slick Willie. William Jefferson Clinton. Miss you.
Go USA!!!!
