UPDATED: There will be no vote tonight.
This from the Iowa Independent newspaper: Unemployment extension stalled until after recess, Harkin concedes
Although U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin was hopeful Thursday morning that his colleagues would take one more crack at passing an extension of long-term unemployment insurance benefits, his office has confirmed that there will be no more action on any measures taken until after the Independence Day recess.
Thanks also to zapus who mentioned in his comment the possibility that the vote might not happen.
Good luck to all and try to have a good 4th of July because don't forget WE WILL NOT GIVE UP.

Sen. Harkin is reporting in an Iowa Newspaper that he hopes the Senate will be brought back from recess TONIGHT for another go at passing the Unemployment Benefit Extension Bill.
See the article: 2010 Unemployment Extension Hopes Resurrected by Senator Tom Harkin -- but He's a Democrat by Saul Relative
"Perhaps Senator Harkin knows something -- a whispered promise, a veiled hint, a behind-the-scenes communique from a Republican senator (or even Ben Nelson, the sole Democrat to vote against cloture) -- that has indicated to him that another vote would see the passage of H.R.4213, the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act of 2010."
In addition "President Obama, according to OpenCongress.org, has called for a special meeting with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid for Thursday afternoon. Although it is unknown what the details of the meeting concern, there is speculation that the unemployment benefits extension situation will be discussed."
We can only hope this is going to happen. Please keep contacting your Senators..... don't let them go home for vacation and abandon millions of unemployed desparate Americans.
