We got to Vegas early, so I'm already here! I want everyone else to hurry up and arrive.
It's HOT. But the hotel is beautiful. It's a big, huge, fancy place. There are so many options for food that there's no reason to leave the building except for a brief dip in the pool. Which looks very attractive also, complete with a little white sand beach (no tar balls). Bring a swim suit. The conference rate on the hotel is so reasonable that I had a little trepidation about it. But it's great! We really like the room and the common areas. The only thing that might make it better is to see it filled with terrific progressives. The restaurants have a nice range of prices and types of food. And there are some convenience stores for snacks and drinks to stock the room fridge. A terrific choice of venue. Kudos to the organizers so far.
Tomorrow we are doing touristy things. In the morning we are going to an indoor range to shoot automatic rifles. Being good bleeding heart liberal hippy types, my husband and I are NOT gun people. But we picked up a little magazine in the taxi and as soon as I saw the ad with the blonde babe holding an AK-47, I was in. My husband is eyeing up the Uzi. We're planning to have our pictures taken for our next Christmas card. Although it will be hard to choose btw that and the photo we already have of ourselves with Al Franken. We might have to resort to Photoshop to give him an Uzi too. Then we have tickets for one of the many Cirque du Soleil shows in the evening.
This is my 4th NN. I'm really looking forward to it. See you all soon.
