Colorado Confluence is a new kind of political-plus blog, Colorado-based but not geographically (or topically) exclusive, "to articulate the genius of the many with the expertise of the few, the simple pleasures of daily life with the sublime pleasures of aesthetic and intellectual discovery, the roiling surface of the political sea with the surging depths of the human mind."
Colorado Confluence is an issue-oriented community blog dedicated to political, economic, social, and cultural analysis, as well as imaginative explorations of our world, and discussions about matters relevant to daily life. All are welcome.

Have you ever wished that the people who spoke the loudest were the people who knew the most? Have you ever listened to lay people or public officials speaking in the news or the "blogosphere," and cringed over something that they were completely oblivious to that you have some expertise in? Have you ever wished that those in other positions (social, economic, professional, academic, etc.) understood more of the insights generated by yours? Have you ever wished that you understood more of the insights generated by theirs? Have you ever wished that we could govern ourselves more intelligently?
ColoradoConfluence.com is a new blog dedicated to cross-fertilizing communication among scholars and professionals and officials with various expertise, and a two-way communication between those with particular expertise and those lay-people who would like to learn more and share their own ideas and insights in return.
I hope you'll stop by and peruse the posts on the site (I recommend "The Politics of Consciousness" for an overview of my paradigm, "The Economic Debate We're Not Having" for a good early example of what Colorado Confluence is all about, or "Environmental Open Forum" for an indication of the breadth and information-intensivity I'm reaching for). And, please, post the ideas that you think are most important to disseminate, to the public, to other scholars, to public officials, all of whom I will be actively inviting to participate on this blog. By far and away, the greatest tragedy of human existence is the extent to which we underutilize our most precious natural resource, and perhaps the only one that is replenished rather than depleted with use: The Human Mind.
Let's continue to put this revolutionary tool of augmented collective cognition to ever better use. Colorado Confluence is one more place to experiment with the possibilities.
