Hello
Time magazine is running with a story titled 'How Barack Obama Became Mr. Unpopular'.
More under the cut.
Accompanied with a very unflattering picture, Mr. Michael Scherer - A "journalist" who never bothered to hide his contempt towards Barack Obama - is conducting a hit-job that even the Koch brothers couldn't dream of (Unless they're the ones ordering this thing).
Anyway, Scherer's bottom line: Everybody hates Obama - Young, old, white, independents - he is tanking in the polls, Congressional Dems are running away from him, long live the GOP. Facts? who gives a shit. There's a mission to perform, there's a president to destroy.
Well, facts can be incredibly stubborn.
We can start with looking at his Gallup numbers on the first day of each month over the past year:
Oct 1, 2009: 51
Nov 1, 2009: 50
Dec 1, 2009: 49
Jan 1, 2010: 50
Feb 1, 2010: 48
Mar 1, 2010: 50
Apr 1, 2010: 48
May 1, 2010: 49
Jun 1, 2010: 50
Jul 1, 2010: 49
Aug 1, 2010: 45
Sep 1, 2010: 47

We can continue with comparing his numbers to previous presidents at the same point of their presidency:
Bush II on Oct 1, 2001: 87%
Bush II on Sep 1, 2002: 66%
Clinton on Oct 1, 1993: 50%
Clinton on Sep 1, 1994: 39%
Bush I on Oct 1, 1989: 68%
Bush I on Sep 1, 1990: 74%
Reagan on Oct 1, 1981: 56%
Reagan on Sep 1, 1982: 42%
Carter on Oct 1, 1977: 59%
Carter on Sep 1, 1978: 42%
Papa Bush enjoyed Desert Storm winds in his back, stupid Bush was still milking every drop from 9/11. The other three were more, even much more, Mr. Unpopular than president Obama. But don't tell anyone.

And we can end with the new CNN poll from today where Mr. Unpopular is at 50% (Up from 47% last month), 3% below his election-winning number, way above both Reagen and Clinton, and all this with 9.5-9/6% unemployment.
Or, actually, we can end with this, from that Time hit-job:
Across the gym floor, Joe Donnelly, Elkhart's pro-life, pro-gun Democratic Congressman, worked the crowd. He was part of the moderate wave that won Congress for Nancy Pelosi in '06, and he was re-elected with 67% of the vote while campaigning for Obama in '08. The President has since returned to the region three times, but Donnelly is nonetheless fighting for his political life. In a recent television ad, an unflattering photo of Obama and Pelosi flashes while Donnelly condemns "the Washington crowd." This is basically a Democratic campaign slogan now: Don't blame me for Obama and Pelosi. "I'm not one of them," Donnelly told me when I caught up with him. "I'm one of us."
Yep, congressional Democrats, who are at least 15% below president Obama's numbers, thinks that it'll be a good idea to run against him, because, hey, he is now "Mr. Unpopular". Even the Time Magazine said so.
