Seriously, everytime you think republicans and their t-baggers sidekicks reach the bottom, they always prove you wrong by digging deeper. First you have Sarah Palin defending the use of the "N-Word" on twitter, now you have Newt Gingrich, a potentional GOP nominee for 2012, reaching a new low. In fact, Gingrich, citing a recent article of Forbes.com by Dinesh D'Souza, suggested that President Obama may follow a "Kenyan, anti-colonial" worldview. A big WTF ?
According to the Huffington Post, speaking to The National Review Online, The Former Speaker and Serial Divorcé, Newt The Grinch tells that he thinks that President Obama follows a "Kenyan, anti-colonial" worldview. He went on to praise conservative Dinash D'Souza's piece on Obama by saying that he [D'Souza]made a "stunning insight" into Obama’s behavior. "The most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama", Gringrich said.
Here some highlight of what Newt Gingrich told the NRO :
What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]? That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior. This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president. I think he worked very hard at being a person who is normal, reasonable, moderate, bipartisan, transparent, accommodating , none of which was true. (...)
In the Alinksy tradition, he was being the person he needed to be in order to achieve the position he needed to achieve . . . He was authentically dishonest.[Obama] is in the great tradition of Edison, Ford, the Wright Brothers, Bill Gates — he saw his opportunity and he took it.
See , now Bill Gates is an evil socialist as well. The Grinch didn't stop there, why would he ?
The American people may take it back, in which case I may or may not be the recipient of that, but I have zero doubt that the American people will take it back. Unlike Ford, the Wright Brothers, etc, this guy’s invention did not work. I think Obama gets up every morning with a worldview that is fundamentally wrong about reality. If you look at the continuous denial of reality, there has got to be a point where someone stands up and says that this is just factually insane.
Now, I tried to understand what The Grinch was trying to say by implying that it was wrong to have an "anti-colonial" worldview. I really tried to understand his point. So I thought that I was maybe confused by the meaning of the word "Colonialism". Because, when you tried to read Gringrich's comment, you would think that holding anti-colonial worldviews is a bad thing.
So since google is your bestfriend, I searched for Colonialism's definition and found this :
From Sanford Encyclopedia : Colonialism is a practice of domination, which involves the subjugation of one people to another. (...)the practice of colonialism usually involved the transfer of population to a new territory, where the new arrivals lived as permanent settlers while maintaining political allegiance to their country of origin.
Colonialism is a process whereby sovereignty over the colony is claimed by the metropole and social structure, government and economics within the territory of the colony are changed by the colonists. Colonialism is a certain set of unequal relationships, between metropole and colony and between colonists and the indigenous population.
In other words, holding a "pro-colonial" worldview isn't something you should brag about, Mr Newt Gingrich. Unless, you are a proud birther who is dreaming of running for the US presidency in 2012 against President Barack Obama.
The DNC was quick to slammed Newt Gingrich by releasing this statement via DNC Press Secretary Hari Sevugan :
This crushes the hopes of those who thought Gingrich could bring ideas instead of smears to what the GOP was offering. He's not a reasonable man that some thought he could be. He's proven he's just like the rest of them. With a worldview shaped by the most radical and fringe elements of the Republican Party, which are more dominant with each passing day.
If you can explain me what Gingrich is trying to say by "Kenyan, Anti-colonial" Woldview, please text me !
Having a Kenyan father who left him when he was 2 years old, doesn't make Obama a Kenyan expert, nor make him sharing "Kenyan Worldview", only dumbass racists would think it ! The guy barely knew his father or his father's country, he was born and raised in the United States by his mother and grandparents. ScoobyDoo knows more about Kenya than Obama will ever know !Seriously !
