I’m Joe Cupka, Political Director with the Minnesota DFL in the 6th Congressional District, where Tarryl Clark is running to defeat Michele Bachmann.
Tomorrow, the landscape of Minnesota’s 6th District and its voting electorate is going to be changed.
We’ve set a goal of knocking on over 10,000 doors in the district tomorrow, October 2nd, exactly one-month out from Election Day.
There’s no substitute for what can be accomplished with a face-to-face conversation with a voter – and we’re going to have thousands of them.
We’ve already knocked on more than 50,000 doors over the course of the summer, and when a race is close, a strong grassroots presence can push one side over the other.
After tomorrow, more voters are going to be aware of Tarryl Clark, more voters are going to be voting for Tarryl Clark, and more voters are going to feel empowered by Tarryl Clark and her campaign.
And we’re just getting started.
We’ve put together an on-the-ground operation never before seen in Minnesota’s 6th District – one that Michele Bachmann’s campaign is unable to compete with.
Tarryl’s campaign, and our more than 2,500 volunteers, have knocked on tens of thousands of doors and made tens of thousands of more phone calls. We’ve had a presence at over 150 community events including parades, festivals, fairs, farmers markets, barn dances, local benefits, small business expos, rodeos, community service events and football games.
We are everywhere, talking to everyone, all of the time. Michele Bachmann and her campaign simply can’t keep up.
I’ll be the first to admit, I’m what they call a field guy. But even I know how critical the support of the netroots is. I personally ask for your continued support on Facebook, Twitter, and on the blogs.
We are in a dead sprint between now and Election Day.
That’s just 33 days until one of the most divisive members of Congress is defeated, and with your help Tarryl Clark will be elected the next Congresswoman from Minnesota’s 6th District.
Back to work.
