Good morning. The Home Repair shop is open and we are back to provide assistance, information and encouragement to Kossaks with home repair or home improvement issues. Now I realize that right now, most of you are focused on meatier topics than that annoying drippy faucet, like making it to the big demonstration today in DC that will blow the doors off the T Bag Express and show America what a REAL demonstration looks like, or beating your local pavement to bring out our voters to hold the line on what we have gained in our struggle to recover from the living Hell of the conservative era.
I salute those of you who have made it to DC; I am there with you in spirit.
I want to thank everyone for their kind words and thoughts during the past two weeks; it has been a source of great comfort to us.
For those of you who aren't familiar with what we do here on Saturday mornings, I quote this very kind comment from feralike that explains:
SMHRB is the Saturday Morning Home Repair Blog here at D-kos. Claude, along with a very special group of extraordinarily experienced kossacks who know just about everything related to home repair, have led this weekly feature to help any kossack get professional and qualified advice in making home repairs. Often, the questions relate to unusual and tricky problems. But there is always someone around who knows how to handle a certain repair or advise on the steps to get through a more common repair.
It is a huge godsend to anyone who is short on money or skills to be able to log in on a Saturday morning and ask the many very experienced regulars how to fix everything from rotten rafter tails to balancing a wobbly toilet.
There is a lot of love and concern for anyone who comes to these diaries from the regulars on this weekly feature. No one is ever treated like a dolt who doesn't know the difference between a band saw and a Allen wrench.
As a chick with power tools and a home improvement obsession, I love this diary series though, I seldom ever get to log in while it is active with posters. But to see Claude and the other regulars offer advice and concern for each other even with non home repair problems is very heart warming as I know they are doing an incredible service to any Kossack who stops by every Saturday AM.
Thank you.
