We're riding the wave out here at McAdams camp, so I wanted to give you a quick update on what's going on, what we're up to, and the big days ahead. Thank you all again for your support, it's been tremendous. There's no time to let up!
For those of you who haven't seen me lurking in Scott's past diaries and on some of the great frontpage coverage, I'm proud to be working for Scott out here in Alaska.
Monday, Scott will be back here with a diary about his views on filibuster reform. SPOILER ALERT: he's for it. I know, what a terrible spoiler.
Also Monday, Scott will face off with Senator Lisa Murkowski at the Alaska Dispatch candidates debate. As of now, Joe Miller has not confirmed his attendance, and given the press conference last Monday where he blew up the Dispatch as a blog that was focused on sullying his image, I think it's fair to say he may sit this one out. I'll be live-blogging from the debate green room (as long as my Interwebs work) for your debateful enjoyment. It begins at 8pm AKT, which provides a glorious midnight activity for those out on the East Coast.
We are in a dead heat, as confirmed by several polls over the last few days. The Tea Party has put out a call for support, fearing the McSurge. In the next two weeks, Scott and the rest of the team will be working as hard as humanly possible for a better Alaska.
Scott and the rest of us are committed to running a fact-based campaign that speaks to the issues important to Alaskans. While Joe Miller has launched very mean-spirited attacks on Senator Murkowski, we have and will continue to stick to the facts. After all, the senator enjoys a long voting record that is often at odds with the best interests of Alaskans.
Today, Senator Murkowski turned her guns on us in a web posting that sought to mischaracterize an ad of ours that pointed out her flawed voting record. Our factual rebuttal, as well as the other bare facts about Senator Murkowski's record, can be found at LisaVotes.
Scott will win this race because he is an honest, hard-working, and sharp guy who has Alaska's best interests at heart. We will stick to the facts; they are on our side. I am proud to be a member of this campaign: it's an issues-oriented vehicle backing a great person, the type of campaign that every young person hopes to be a part of.
We'll be back soon - thank you for your continued support!
