You don't need to spend money to enter, however. If you are not donating, you can enter and have an equal chance of winning by writing an essay of 50 words or less on "Why I want Jerry Brown to be California’s next Governor". Send your essay with a subject line, "Jerry Brown Essay", to communityquilts (at) yahoo (dot) com. If we find your essay topical, it will count for a chance. As with donations, one essay per person per day will count as a chance. Only one form of entry is allowed for a person on a given day.

A Testimonial
Each Saturday for the last few months I have been staffing our Democratic Club's information table at our local Farmers Market in Vallejo, California.
This Saturday I had a 80 year old lady come up to the table requesting information on contacting the Jerry Brown Campaign. She felt the need to tell her story about working for Jerry Brown in 1975.
She said she was hired to oversee a committee that prepared tests for dentists. She said the tests were biased toward discouraging women. And, that Jerry wanted her to open the profession up to women dentists, as up until then it had been exclusively a male profession.
She spoke glowing about the honesty, and humbleness of Jerry Brown's character. And, how she got all the support she needed from Jerry to work on the goal of encouraging women to enter the dental field and removing sexist barriers in the government testing to entry.
I'm sorry I did not get her name, but I have relayed her story as best as I can to the readers here at Daily KOS.
Brown appointed more women, Asians, Latinos and African-Americans to high government positions than any other chief executive. - From the Jerry Brown for Governor Website
