Every pundit has written off Maryland's First District as a Democratic loss, assigning freshman Rep. Frank Kratovil (D) to the dustbin of history. But reports of his political demise may be premature.
The (Baltimore) Sun has released its newest poll showing Kratovil tied with State Sen. Andy Harris, whom Kratovil defeated in 2008 by just 3,000 votes. That's in line with the reputable polling done in the last two months, which alternately showed Kratovil up by 3 or Harris up by 3. The Monmouth University poll of last week, showing Harris up by double digits, was dismissed by Kratovil staff as having unsound methodology, and they've been proven correct.
Early voting is up for Maryland in the general elction. MD-01 is not yet a lost cause!
