Here's an update from the trenches here in my home state of MA.
First the polls.
The latest Boston Globe poll has Barney Frank with a 14 point lead in MA-4, while Bill Keating is hanging on in my district (the fightin' 10th!) with a slim 4 point margin over the odious Jeff Perry. Governor Deval Patrick, also according the the Globe, has a 43-39, edge over the positively robotic Charlie Baker. The Globe and other news outlets around New England keep referring to this mystical "energy" that only Repubs possess which they keep saying are going to put a spell on the electorate here and pull it out for the red team.
I don't get it. The media here is basically saying, forget about the polls or rash of bad headlines for Perry and Baker- not to worry for Repubs because they have the spooky "energy."
Whatever.

So the polls are tight, but look good. So like everyone here has been saying recently GOTV GOTV GOTV.
To that end, I just came back from a GOTV training session in Hyannis. I am volunteering to be a Precinct Captain for the next few days including, obviously, election day. I am getting off my butt and getting into the game. I am fully committed to do whatever I can to get the Dems across the finish line on Tuesday and I hope you all are as well in your neck of the woods.
We just had a Governor candidate debate last night and by all accounts, Patrick's main opponent, Baker, was awful. He is trying to duck a blistering new story that just surfaced (courtesy of the AP) about his role in the Big Dig disaster.

This topic of course kept coming up in the debate last night. Baker did not look amused.
Meanwhile, Republican Jeff Perry ( who is running to replace retiring Bill Delahunt's seat here in the 10th) is being dogged by controversy as well.

Yes, Perry was a bad cop, it seems, and apparently allowed the sexual assault of a minor happen back when he was a police sergeant in 1991 and did nothing to stop it. Now he wants to be our Rep.
Disgusting.
The sad part is that there are many Cape Codders who support this creep (he lives on the Cape) and will vote for him on Tuesday.
I hope my fellow MA Kossacks (am I spelling that right?) will join me (if the haven;t already) in getting the voters out to the polls on Tuesday.
C'mon, MASS Dems! We can do this!!!
