Winning this year isn't just about what we've done since 2008, it is also about what we have left to do in 2011. The fight for real healthcare reform hasn't ended, it's only just begun. Climate change, immigration reform, campaign finance -- on issue after issue progressives in Congress will make the difference.
If we don’t win, we won’t even be able to have that conversation.
While reporters are itching to write the obituary of the Democratic majority, I know that you have been out there working to build the support progressive Democrats need to pull this out. And now, in spite of the opposition, we have the tools to make it happen.
At Democracy for America, we're running our biggest Get-Out-The-Vote program ever, making over 500,000 calls to voters in swing states and districts where progressives can win and turning out more than 250,000 volunteer hours.
You can sign up today for Call Out the Vote and help elect strong Progressive Democrats from your own home. Sign up to make calls here.
Our strategy works. That's why we won in 2006 and 2008. And that's why we're going to keep our majorities and win again in 2010. And we can do this because of your support.
We are well on our way to hitting our goals. As of this morning we’ll have made over 425,000 calls. We only have a few days left and we need you now to make sure we talk to as many voters as possible. Because we absolutely can not stop until we win.
Sign up to make as many calls as you can before Election Day.
We all know that the truth is some Democrats will lose this year, but what the media won't tell you is we'll win seats too.
Progressive candidates like Joe Garcia in Florida and Colleen Hanabusa in Hawaii are going to pick up seats currently held by Republicans. Progressives like Ann McLane Kuster in New Hampshire are going to win open seats for the Democrats. And, of course, Progressive Heroes like Alan Grayson and Barbara Boxer are going to be reelected because they've proven to America they will stand up and lead.
When it's all said and done, it's progressive candidates like these who are going to make the difference between victory and defeat on November 2. But none of them can win without you. It’s not going to be easy, but we can do this together. Please, take some time to make some calls today.
Let’s keep making progress. There is too much left to do and it’s up to us to win this.
