Here in the red desert of Indiana, we have Republican incumbent Randy Truitt vs. promising young Democrat Paul Roales running for State Representative in District 26. District 26 covers parts of West Lafayette, including Purdue University, and outlying areas in Tippecanoe County.
We also have "Independent" coughcoughTeabaggercoughcough Jim Hass running as a write-in candidate.
Today, Jim Hass ran a large ad in the local paper. It has most of the Tbag talking points covered in undramatic fashion. However, his last "promise" on the list is bound to raise some eyebrows.
For those of you not so good at hunting and finding, I have cropped out the relevant, interesting text:
Small microcosms of the local political scene are now in an uproar! What does Jim Hass have against funding unicorn piñatas? Can one defund unicorn piñatas but still, as he claims, respect their rights?
Attempts to reach local representatives of the unicorn piñata community have met with failure, so there is currently no on-record reaction from them regarding this brazen anti-unicorn piñata bigotry.
Candidate Roales has been asked to clearly state his opinion regarding unicorn piñata funding, but a reply from his campaign was not forthcoming at the time of this diary. I will update as information becomes available.
