It's just a thought. I can't be the only one with it. Some of you have thought it too. Hell, they even call Peter Rouse interim Chief of Staff, which tells me they were anticipating losing a senior Senator. I don't think they were necessarily thinking about Feingold, but why not?
I'm not going to make an argument for or against him. There are many here better qualified than I to make those arguments. Some may have been thinking about Byron Dorgan. Okay, throw him into the mix. But let's discuss it.
Feingold has friends and antagonist here. I would call myself neutral, but leaning toward Feingold. His Committee assignments certainly give him heft. And he supports the Veterans.
IIRC he was not a fan of Geitner, that should win him some kudos from many here and from my perspective is a strong reason for him to be WH CoS. He would be a good counter-balance to Geitner's influence.
Let the discussions begin.
