This diary, although focuses on a certain celebrity, talks about the impact of the Tea Party and Conservatism infecting a politically neutral show, Dancing With The Stars. There are a lot of theories as to how Bristol Palin (a good-looking person, but an uber-horrid dancer) is still on the show, despite lower judges scores than the rest. Conservatives4Palin.com and FreeRepublic.com are promoting the gaming of the voting system, therby tainting the show.
If Bristol Palin wins it all, then please boycott ABC!! They already tried to put Breitbart on and had Dana Loesch for Elections 2010 coverage, but enough is enough!
UPDATE: Bristol Palin did NOT get the trophy.
Proof that Bristol Palin has been winning, via ballot fixing and phone jamming:
ABC has done so on purpose to aid Bristol Palin
ABC-DWTS’ irresponsible choice of Bristol Palin for Dancing With the Star was the same type of irresponsible choice that John McCain made when he choose Sarah Palin as his Vice President Candidate.
RECKLESS: Both had and have the potential of degrading a Distinguish Office and a Popular and Respected Brand.
Jezebel has this: How Palin fans are gaming the system,
It's been alleged that the Tea Party's "Operation Bristol" is keeping the teen mom in the competition. However, the real conspiracy is that her conservative supporters have figured out a way to exploit ABC.com's email-voting feature, allowing infinite votes.
HillBuzz had this:
Here's a hint: They don't have to be VALID email addresses to register them with ABC.com, there is apparently no validation process. The just have to be formatted like a valid email address, and you must use a valid zip code and a birthdate that makes you old enough to vote. I'm voting like a democrat, all night long...
No, it doesn't have to be a valid email address – I had one of my anonymous ones XXX@yahoo.com that I used, and then just did the sign-up process all over again with XXX1@yahoo.com and it worked.
Got my 80 votes in online...took 2 hours. I am beat
I only got 42 in, I have some catching up to do!
Lord have mercy, I voted for 3 hours online! I got 300 in.
Whipping up their fanbase to vote for Bristol repeatedly.
[T]he fact we've been all doing this for Bristol has been driving the Left NUTS...For conservatives, enjoy the fun of finally, at last, getting a taste of what it's like to be a Democrat. You can vote as much as you want. You can vote using all sorts of names. You can vote all day. You can't get paid to vote, because you aren't really a Democrat, silly, but you can get as close as you can possibly get without being in a union or taking part in ACORN.
The Hollywood Reporter: Bristol still on via rigged votes
Conservative radio host Tammy Bruce has led a Twitter campaign to get fans to vote for "Team Ballin" as Palin and her partner Mark Ballas are known. On Monday, Bruce tweeted: "Operation Bristol waltzes in tonight! As #DWTS starts vote at abc.go.com Tweeps pls tweet phone info, will RT." Bruce only has a little over 14,000 followers, but the ripple effect on Twitter is well-established.
There are also multiple Palin fan sites including bristolpalin.org and her own Facebook page that urges users to "vote for Bristol the pistol."
And Dancing with the Stars indexes in TV’s top-ten among Republicans, according to data from Experian Simmons that appears in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter. It comes in at No. 9 on the list top shows among Republicans. And while Dancing indexes high with Democrats as well, it still does not crack the top 15 favorite shows among Democratic viewers.
My tweets:
Looks like @dloesch @drginaloudon @michellemalkin @secupp were rigging the DWTS results for Bristol.
The man who shot the TV to protest Bristol is a patriot.
Sure, strong reactions to the Palins' new TLC show prompted a hilarious children's Facebook firefight. But that's nothing compared to one man's reaction to Bristol Palin's latest Dancing With the Stars routine: He hated it enough to shoot his TV.
The saddest part of this story? It's not that he's bipolar. It's that it took him this many weeks into the season to realize that Palin's only on the show because of her famous mother. No just kidding, the saddest part is probably that he's bipolar.
Bristol's sister, Willow, used homophobic insults to her classmates critical of TLC's Sarah Palin's Alaska. Hufflington Post: Willow Palin threatens students against her viewpoints
Willow Palin, the 16-year-old daughter of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, wrote multiple Facebook posts containing homophobic slurs such as "faggot" on Sunday night, according to TMZ.
The web site reports that Palin's teenage daughter wrote the comments on Sunday night, when her mother's television show Sarah Palin's Alaska premiered on TLC. According to TMZ, a classmate of one of Palin's children published a Facebook update claiming that the show "is failing so hard right now."
Bristol Palin Battles the DWTS Conspiracy Theories

There's a voting controversy. Sarah Palin and the tea party may be involved. Twitter and Facebook are abuzz.
Welcome to the semifinals - and the finals - of Dancing With the Stars! It's Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey vs. pop star Brandy. It's Disney star Kyle Massey vs., yes, teen activist (and single mom and Sarah's daughter) Bristol Palin.
The controversy that's been brewing came to a full boil on Twitter after Tuesday's results show. But Bristol's partner, Mark Ballas, addressed it head-on during rehearsal sessions aired Monday night.
"I hear a lot of people saying the only reason you're getting this far is because of who your mom is, the tea party," Ballas said to Bristol. "What I think is that people are at home, they're thinking that's exactly how I would be."
"I think I'm definitely relatable to the audience out there, and untouched and raw and vulnerable," Bristol said, adding later, "No offense to anyone else, but I'm not fake. . . . I'm not typical Hollywood."
She does come from politics, however, and that's where the voting controversy comes from. Certainly, the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate and her friends have used their social media prowess to promote Bristol during a DWTS season that coincided with the midterm elections.
