I don't know how much abuse was heaped on the recently departed diarist Blackwaterdog, but much of it was deserved.
There may be valid arguments for supporting Obama, but I never saw her present one, let alone one backed up by linked evidence.
Instead, she consistently hailed the White House's staged public-relations events as courageous triumphs over the evil elements of mankind, which included everyone who dared to doubt, even for a second, that Obama was the Greatest President Evah!
And she inevitably followed up the few paragraphs of purple prose she was able to type with worshipful displays of photos of the president and his family that made Peggy Noonan's rhapsodizing over Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush look sane by comparison.
She is an embarrassment to herself and once would have been an embarrassment to this site, although I no longer think anyone can be that. Daily Kos orange has become symbolic of the Cheeto dust on the fingers of far too many diarists here.
The Internet gives people a place to rant, in various degrees of coherence, about whatever they're feeling at the time. It also allows them to formulate well-reasoned arguments and, through hyper-text markup language, present evidence to support their points.
Daily Kos has become a place where people do the former ad infinitum and the latter much too rarely.
I can only hope that Blackwaterdog's departure will help change that.
But I don't believe in hope and change too much these days.
