ZenTrainer's quilt top
A few months ago, our community received some disturbing news, our Granny Doc is fighting cancer. A community quilt has been requested for her, a way for her to keep the good wishes of her blogging friends close to her while she works on healing. It is easier to heal when you know a whole village has your back...
Detail of ZenTrainer's quilt
What is a community quilt, a so-called "Love Catcher"? It is a quilt that contains uplifting messages from you transcribed by me in archival ink on muslin. The messages become part of the patchwork, to be read over and over as the quilt is snuggled, hugged and even cried into. It is sort of like a bunch of greeting cards but far more practical -- especially for someone fighting cancer. Those treatment rooms are chilly!

I figure the cost of making these quilts at about $5/message plus shipping -- this covers materials and a bit of our time. If you would like to contribute, here is a PayPal link, or email me for a snail mail address if you prefer to send a check. Just know it is not at all necessary to contribute to leave a message. The messages are a contribution in and of themselves and it is the messages that provide the real mojo of these quilts! So don't be shy about leaving one. We'll be looking for sixty-eight, total.
