So much screaming, so little time. Times are hard, tempers short, everyone is confused, many are afraid. There are trolls and crazies about. The Dems have has some success, but not as much as lots of people hoped.
If you want to know why there is screaming on this site (besides the presence of obvious trolls,) read Charles Tilly and Armand Mauss on the life cycle of social movements. This fighting was bound to happen; it always happens; but the fact that we are living through such difficult economic times adds much fuel to the fire.
IN THE MEANTIME, you guys seem to have missed two really helpful diaries
You ought to read this: Fall 2008: Complete Economic Catastrophe, Part 1
and this:
How TARP and the Fed Prevented Complete Economic Catastrophe-Pt.2
by Hamden Rice
Part 2 was rescued last night, but very few people commented. If you are like me and still are not at all clear on what happened with the meltdown of 2008, these diaries are for you. HamdenRice explains it in words even this old woman can understand. Yes, it is elementary. BUT I'm not a financial person, so it helped me.
Do yourself a favor, and spend the few minutes it takes to read through these very helpful, informative and clearly written diaries.
