A friend of mine is trying to return a purchase made online.
The company is pretty sketchy at best.
I am posting this here in hopes maybe a few folks will look at the terms and conditions and possibly send emails to get this website to step up their customer service and or make their policy much clearer.
This company is saying they do not accept returns. Please read the terms/conditions page and tell me whether it's clear to you.
Return/Exchange Instructions
- All returns must be approved and issued a Return Authorization Number (RAN). This number must be clearly marked on the outside of returned box and on all paperwork. Boxes not clearly marked with a valid RAN will not be accepted.
- Written request for an RAN must be made within 3 days of receipt of merchandise.
- Once RAN is issued, your package must be post-marked within 4 days of the return authorization date. Items returned after the RAN expiration date will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.
Below is the complaint filed to the Better Business Bureau. Help me fight companies operating on shady business practices!!!
The website does not state that returns are not allowed.
I read the terms/conditions before purchasing the item and understood it to mean that I had 3 days upon receiving the item to request an RAN (Return Authorization Number) to return the item. After requesting an RAN number they directed me to their terms/conditions page stating that they do not accept returns, only exchanges.
I have read this page several times and if I had understood this was their policy, I would not have purchased this item. The customer service is rude, they will not return the item, and I have suggested they change the language on their policy so that it clearly states they do not accept returns at all. They are operating on shady business practices. If they cared to rectify the situation they would return my item and change the language so that it is clearly stated that they do not accept returns. I suspect many people have been tricked by this and just haven't known what else to do so they dropped the issue. I am an educated and fair person and if I came away not understanding their policy, then I know there are many other consumers in the same position.
Below Are the texts of some of the emails.
Response From store@halloweenfantasy.com
On our policy page the first paragraph is the following:
If for any reason you are not happy with your selection, you may exchange the item for something of equal or greater value.
Nowhere in our policy indicates that we accept returns and issue refunds.

To which I replied.
I have searched your page and I do not see a "policy" page anywhere. I read about your policy on the "terms/conditions" page before I purchased the merchandise and nowhere does it state that you absolutely "DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS". Why would you even acknowledge a difference in the meaning of the words "return" and "exchange" by stating "Returns/Exchanges" on your terms/conditions page if you don't accept returns? Your policy is faulty. It is not clear and I am requesting a RAN number to return the item. Had your policy been clear I would never have chosen to do business with your company.
From store@halloweenfantasy.com:
We did not refer to our "policy" page, we were referring to our policy on our Terms & Conditions page. We do accept Returns if certain conditions were met, i.e. if a wrong or damaged item was shipped.
As you can see this is a shady company as i've stated before.
It's not the amount of money involved its the idea of getting a fair shake.
