This is a short diary. It doesn't need to be very long. It should make it pretty obvious to all but the most gullible dullard as to what is really happening to the financial structure of this country. It was prompted by an offhand remark from some talking head who glibly tossed out that nine of the wealthiest American fifteen counties are located within a certain geographic area in this country. Can you guess where that is?
I didn't believe this when I heard it. So I figured I could do a little basic research to debunk what I thought I heard. Instead when I plugged "wealthiest counties in US" into Google and Wikipedia this is what resulted.

Instead it became pretty clear that nine of the wealthiest counties in this country are located in the Washington, DC area. Five of the other six are in the NYC area. Think DC is a big city? Not really. It's actually 27th on the list of American cities by size. El Paso, Texas is larger. So looking through that prism and understanding that Congress just voted on extending a giant tax cut essentially permanently, who is going to benefit from that action?
Duh.
And who else? Folks who work in the NYC metro area. Hey, like what would generate the amount of wealth in a major metropolitan area like New York? What industry is there?
Duh.
So while the good ol' USA is essentially strangling in its own crapulence, for DC and NYC (in a certain financial sector) it's "Happy Days are Here Again". Why not, government just voted itself billions in tax cuts.
Enjoy your canned ravioli with your newfound unemployment check but understand that your social security check will soon be headed into the pocket of some hedge funder's Hamptons extension or some retired general's prostitute expenditure. Merry Christmas!!
