Have you been hearing that lately, how much true liberals really don't like President Obama much these days? It's all over the television. The news shows talk about how he has "lost his base". The pundits wonder if he'll get beat by Sarah Palin in 2012. The liberal blogosphere is all a-twitter (including Twitter) about how the President should be primaried in two years.
You know what? It's all bunk.
Seriously, take a look at the latest Gallup polling on President Obama's approval/disapproval ratings:
Check out that top line, the group of Democrats that likes him best. That's liberal Democrats.
Check out the third line down, the group of Democrats that likes him least. That's conservative Democrats.
In other words, the more liberal a Democrat is, the more likely they have a high opinion of President Obama.
So much for that ridiculous media narrative.
Another maddening thing is Gallup's commentary on the poll.
Liberal Democrats' approval of Obama remained subdued, averaging 80% in the past week...
An 80% approval rating is "subdued"? Really? The group most likely to be disappointed in him for one reason or another still gives him an 80% favorability rating and that's "subdued"? It's this kind of editorial horse shit that keeps these memes going. It's all the more crazy-making when it happens in the same goddam sentence where they give you data that disproves it!
That's some serious Jedi Mind Trick stuff is what that is.
These are not the droids you're looking for...
These are not the poll numbers the President is looking for...
Maybe Gallup should just report the numbers and let us interpret them on our own from here on out. I think we're pretty capable of parsing them for ourselves, don't you?
By the way, have you noticed how the liberal pundits are all starting to realize they misjudged the president? First we had Rachel Maddow admitting she was wrong on President Obama getting DADT passed in the 111th Congressional session.
Last night it was Ed Schultz talking about the slew of bills passed in the lame duck session:
"I may have been wrong on this tax thing. That's a lot of victories"
Must be something in the water over there at MSNBC...
I'm just sayin'...

UPDATE:Yesterday, the President said:
That is why I say to all Americans, gay or straight, who want nothing more than to defend this country in uniform: Your country needs you, your country wants you, and we will be honored to welcome you into the ranks of the finest military the world has ever known.
Some of you remembered I visited Afghanistan just a few weeks ago. And while I was walking along the rope line -- it was a big crowd, about 3,000 -- a young woman in uniform was shaking my hand and other people were grabbing and taking pictures. And she pulled me into a hug and she whispered in my ear, "Get ‘Don't Ask, Don't Tell’ done."
And I said to her, "I promise you I will."
For we are not a nation that says, "don’t ask, don’t tell." We are a nation that says, "Out of many, we are one." We are a nation that welcomes the service of every patriot. We are a nation that believes that all men and women are created equal. Those are the ideals that generations have fought for. Those are the ideals that we uphold today. And now, it is my honor to sign this bill into law.
In recognition of the amazing first half-term of President Obama, I want to share with you a special gift my wife and I are offering to our Obama-supporter friends.
Anne's "Out of Many, We are One" photomosaic poster of the President normally goes for $20 + shipping. Until January 1st, they are only $5! Get the details HERE.
Have a fantastic holiday season, my friends.
