Sometime ago, Google News had one of those polls that they put out every so often about how they could improve the service. One of the questions was whether it would be a good idea to be able to configure their personalized new service not only for content but also for sources. I thought at the time that this would be a very good thing. However, nothing changed and I had more or less stopped thinking about it.
Today, however, I looked again and the option now exists in the form of a settings page that allows you to enter sources you want more from and sources you want less from. I have every variant of Fox I could think of plus the Wall Street Journal in the “less” list, and a few random items in the “more” list. Really if this eliminates Fox and the WSJ from my news feed, it will make reading the daily news much more satisfying to me.
Well, that's it. If anyone else here uses Google News' personalized service, they might want to check this out.
Actually, I'm hoping that a lot of people just say no to Fox in this manner, maybe it will be noticed.
